REVIEWS: Critics Everywhere Are Falling In Love With The GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
Guardians of the Galaxy is currently at a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics everywhere are raving. It's official...the film is great! Check out the reviews below!

"A well-matched ensemble rises to the challenge of launching a heroic origin film with distinctive style, abundant thrills and no shortage of humor."
Justin Lowe, THR
"James Gunn's old-school romp in the far reaches of the universe owes more to Joss Whedon's “Firefly” than to his “Avengers,” blending action, thrills, and humor with skill."
James Rocchi, The Wrap
"A motley crew of mercenaries and mutants are the galaxy's last best hope in Marvel's gently subversive superhero sendup."
Scott Foundas, Variety
"Possibly one of the funniest (and strangest) Marvel movies yet, James Gunn and his cast deliver an infinitely entertaining space opera that's really something quite special. J.J. Abrams'"Star Wars" movie now has even more to live up to."
Edward Douglas, ComingSoon
"If you thought Avengers Assemble was the ultimate comic book hero mash-up, wait ’til you get a load of this."
David Edwards, Mirror
"At its core, Guardians is a fleet-footed throwback to the action-adventure movies of yesteryear. Remember when big-screen entertainment wasn't so serious and just really good fun?"
Simon Reynolds, Digital Spy

Guard The Galaxy 2.0 - Launching October 2014
Hey Galaxians! Cameron Logan, here! For those of you who don't know me, I am the creator of this humble little site, which I started in March of 2013. You may be wondering why I started a site dedicated to Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy of all things. Well, to be honest, I have always felt like an underdog, so I guess a comic about underdogs saving the universe really resonated with me. Plus, once I heard that Marvel Studios would be making a Guardians of the Galaxy film, I knew fans would need a site to talk about the Guardians movies and comics.
Although running this site hasn't always been easy (I've had months where I've almost completely fallen off the map), it has been one of the single greatest experiences of my life. Not only have I communicated with Guardians fans from all around the world, I've also made some truly great friends.
With the announcement that Marvel would be releasing Guardians of the Galaxy 2 in July 2017, the number of Galaxians will only continue to grow. That's why I am hard at work, redesigning the site to make it more attractive, informative, user-friendly, and fun. The "relaunch" will officially happen this October (2014), but that doesn't mean we won't keep posting until then.
Thanks to all of you for making this site a great experience!
Best,
Cameron Logan

Where Are The Easter Eggs In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY? (SPOILERS)
It's hard to believe that in less than three days, most of us will be sitting down in a theater and watching Guardians of the Galaxy for the first time. It's been a long journey, keeping up with the film's production, speculating plot points, and watching trailers non-stop. Now we finally get to see the finished product.
Throughout the process, director James Gunn was extremely adamant that Guardians would feature lots and lots of "easter eggs" from the Marvel universe. For those who don't know, "easter eggs" are references, character appearances, cameos, etc. which are hidden in films and not always easy to spot. After the jump, check out a growing list of easter eggs from Guardians of the Galaxy. Also, if you have already seen the film and noticed any easter eggs not listed yet, drop us a comment below.
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD
1. The man, the legend, Stan Lee appears in a bar scene, making advances on a younger lady, much to Rocket's disgust.
2. Director James Gunn's friends Lloyd Kaufman and Nathan Fillon both appear in a Kyln prison scene as inmates, the latter in heavy makeup.
3. The following characters appear as prisoners in The Collector's "collection":
- A 'Dark Elf' from Thor: The Dark World
- Howard The Duck (in a cage above the elf)
- Cosmo(the Russian telepathic dog)
- A 'Chitauri' from The Avengers
That's all we have for now. If you noticed anything else, drop us a comment below!

PICS: A Collection Of Director James Gunn's "GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Pics Of The Day"
On director James Gunn's Facebook page, he has been posting behind-the-scenes pictures from the Guardians of the Galaxy set. Each picture gives us an inside look at the process of creating the film. It's also fun to see the actors chilling between shots. We have compiled a list of all of the pics and descriptions. Check them out below. And also make sure to follow director James Gunn on Facebook!
July 29th - "Hanging with Karen Gillan as Nebula, sans contacts."
July 28th - "Ravagers unite! Is it a coincidence that all my real life friends look like outer space criminals?"
July 27th - "The props department gets shivs and other illegal weapons ready for the Kyln prison."
July 25th - "Working on the scene with Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, & Dave Bautista. Fun creative days!"
July 22nd - "Every day I'd bring VonSpears to set, he'd go off with his walker, and then he'd return and see each other at the end of the day. Here's his face when he sees me one day, surrounded by the alien citizens of Xandar."
July 21st - "One of the stranger items in Taneleer Tivan's collection."
July 20th - "Getting abducted with Wyatt Oleff, who plays young Peter Quill. What a great kid - just a pure joy to be around - and an amazing young actor who moved us and blew us away on a daily basis."
July 19th - "We all get ready to shoot inside the Kyln. This was early on in the process and were some of the scenes I has most painstakingly storyboarded, pre-animated, and rehearsed. They were pretty smooth days, as far as these things go."
July 18th - "My little meerkat pal Timone and I stealing a shot on Ronan's throne. Timone would visit me on set and hang on my shoulder all day while I directed (as long as anyone didn't get too close - if they would try to touch me he'd protect me by snapping at them)."
July 17th - "I was grateful when my old boss, the president of Troma Entertainment, Lloyd Kaufman, came to London to do a cameo in the film - as a prisoner in the Kyln. Lloyd taught me more than anyone else about making films. One of the things that keeps me sane in this business is staying true to my roots - whether with friends, family, or co-workers. As the world around me changes it's nice to have some consistency in my personal life (even if that consistency is as crazy as Michael Rooker). Have a great day, folks!"
July 14th - "Dave and Chris waiting for the next setup."

Fandango, the largest online movie ticket seller, sent us an e-mail today, telling us how excited they are about this weekend's release of Guardians of the Galaxy. Apparently, the film has scored "94 out of 100 points on the company’s Fanticipation movie buzz indicator."Also, the film is "capturing 93% of this weekend’s ticket sales on Fandango, and outselling previous Marvel franchise debuts, “Thor” and “Captain America,” at the same point in the sales cycle."

GOTG2: James Gunn Reveals A Little About The Plot Of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2 (SPOILERS)
Most of us haven't seen the first Guardians of the Galaxy film yet. However, the film's writer and director James Gunn has already been working on the sequel. In an interview with FilmDivider, Gunn talked a little bit about where he wanted to take the Guardians franchise in the second film.
"I know a lot of where I want to go,"Gunn said."I have a lot of ideas for stories and characters that are going to appear, and there are documents written up, that some people have, about Peter Quill’s father and his relationship, a lot of stuff about Yondu and a lot of stuff about Drax that nobody knows. There are a lot of things that are part of the overall schematic that already exist, not to mention a lot of stuff about all of the cultures. There’s a lot of stuff about Xandarian and Kree culture that I’ve written down or I have in my head, as well as Krylorians and Ravagers."
Gunn also added,"Kevin Feige has stuff. I wrote up a lot. He knows all the stuff and if I died tomorrow they could go make a movie. They could write the story of Peter Quill’s father and it would all be there. I think Yondu is a very important character, a really important character in this universe, and I think Nebula is really important too and so I think we’ll see more of both of those characters."
So it sounds like the sequel will deal mostly with Peter Quill's father (who may or may not be J'son of Spartax in the film), as well as Yondu and Nebula. Could we possibly see a storyline similar to the Bendis run of Guardians, with Peter Quill's father playing an antagonistic role? There's also the possibility that we will see more of the original Guardians (Charlie-27, Starhawk, Martinex) in the sequel, as it sounds like they will delving into Yondu's character a little more.
As for Nebula, most of us have read The Infinity Gauntlet comic, which features Nebula heavily. With the obvious 'Infinity Gauntlet' movie that the MCU is building towards, may we see Nebula in Avengers 3? Only time will tell! Sound off on your thoughts below in the comment section!

Marvel Already Making Plans For GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY / AVENGERS Crossover Film?
Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn, and the cast of Guardians were recently asked by Yahoo Movies what they thought about a potential Avengers/Guardians crossover.
Gunn started by saying, "We talked about all sorts of possibilities [for a crossover] and I kind of know what the basic plan is. It could always change at any minute." Gunn also added that an upcoming film "could or could not include a couple of Avengers and a couple of Guardians meeting up, or all of the Avengers and all of the Guardians. But, we do inhabit the same universe and they’re pretty big personalities that are likely to, at some point or another, run into each other.” When asked about the dynamic between the two teams, Gunn stated,"I do not think the Avengers would get on well with the Guardians. The Guardians are like a bunch of jerks, really. The Avengers, for all their problems, they’re all do-gooders. And our guys are not do-gooders.”
The film's lead, Chris Pratt weighed in on his thoughts. “It’s a delicate balance. If you go from five characters and you add another five characters, that’s ten characters. That can be very difficult.”
When cast member Vin Diesel (Groot) was asked about the potential crossover, he said, “Marvel will have a lot of options after this movie and one of those options will be integrating teams...I think there’s going to be huge fans of the Guardians and there are huge fans of the Avengers and I think the discussion has already been had [at Marvel]. I think the audience may demand something like that.”
It sounds like Marvel has already been discussing the possibility, and with both teams fighting Thanos, this was almost a given. What do you think of the idea? Could the teams possibly unite for an 'Infinity Gauntlet' storyline? Drop a comment below and let us know!
