Everyone considered James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy to be Marvel's first big risk, and likely flop. Well whoever said that was wrong, as the team just hit $294.6 million domestically, which passes up Zack Snyder's take on the blue boy scout Man of Steel (which made $291 million). Guardians also hit $586.2 million globally, which beats out Marvel's first film Iron Man, which made a global score of $585 million.
