Guardians of the Galaxy has many funny moments. There were so many, I could barely narrow it down to a top five. Many people agree that this is Marvel's funniest film, and I'd have to say that's true. Here's five of my favorite funny moments from the film...

1. Peter Quill's Dancing Intro

Although Guardians of the Galaxy begins on a somber note, it doesn't take long for the humor to kick in. Our introduction to Peter Quill as an adult takes place on the abandoned planet of Morag, as Peter is in hot pursuit of the orb. Once he enters the temple where the orb is being housed, he puts on his headphones and presses play on his walkman. Then the intro to 'Come and Get Your Love' by Redbone begins to play. As soon as the lyrics kick in, the title of the film is show in bold letters above Quill dancing. The next two minutes feature Quill dancing and singing along to the classic tune, even using an alien rodent as a microphone stand in.

2. Yondu's Love Of Figurines

Although Yondu seems like a tough guy, he occasionally displays his softer side in the film. Before questioning 'The Broker' about the orb, Yondu fawns over a small animal figurine. 'The Broker' asks whether Yondu is serious, to which Kraglin (Yondu's first mate) replies that he is. The film goes even further to show us Yondu's "collection" of animal figurines on the dashboard of his cockpit.

3. 'Kevin Bacon'

Peter Quill is a womanizer, so of course he tries to seduce Gamora. One way to do this is to let her listen to a romantic song ('Fooled Around and Fell In Love' to be exact). When she questions him about music, he tells her you can dance to it. Gamora states that she is an assassin and doesn't dance. Quill goes on to tell her a story of a great hero named "Kevin Bacon" who taught "a whole town of people with sticks up their butts" the power of dancing. Quill was obviously referring to the 80's dance flick, Footloose, but Gamora didn't know this.

Later in the film, when the Guardians crash 'The Milano' onto 'The Dark Aster', Gamora looks over at Pete, smiles, and earnestly says 'We're Kevin Bacon!'

4. Groot Smiling

Groot is by far the sweetest of the Guardians, but that doesn't stop him from doing some damage. On 'The Dark Aster', Groot, Drax, and Star-lord encounter a large group of Sakaaran soldiers. Groot takes them all down by turning his arm into a skewer and stabbing it through the Sakaarans. He then violently knocks all of the standing Sakaarans soldiers down by using their comrades. The extended sequence is brutal (with Drax giving Star-lord an approving nod), but once he's finished, Groot turns around at Star-lord and Drax with a huge grin on his face.

5. Peter Quill Distracting Ronan

In the climax of the film, the Guardians are finally face to face with Ronan, and it seems that there's no way they can prevail. Ronan begins to give a big speech, which is soon interrupted by something Ronan (or no one in the theater for that matter) expected. Star-lord stands up in front of Ronan and begins dancing and singing along to 'O-O-H Child'. Ronan looks on, insulted by Peter Quill's lack of respect. "What are you doing?" Ronan angrily shouts at Peter. "I'm distracting you, you big turd-blossom."

That's all, folks! What were the funniest moments of the film for you? Drop us a comment below and let us know!
